Religion is a big part of Crusader Kings 2, and if you like to use console commands, you'll be glad to hear that there are many ways to modify the religion of characters, provinces and kingdoms with them! This guide will show you how to do the following:
How to Change the Religion of a Province
The religion of a province can be changed very easily (no need for events), with the province_religion [Province ID] [Religion ID] command. You'll need two things to use this command:
Crusader Kings 2 Convert County Religion
- The province ID of the province you wish to change the religion of, to put in the place of [Province ID]. You can find this on our province ID list.
- The religion ID of the religion you wish to change the province's to, to put in the place of [Religion ID]. You can find this on our religion ID list.
Zoroaster's ideas led to a formal religion bearing his name by about the 6th century BC. In Crusader Kings II Zoroastrianism is a minor religion whose adherents mostly live east of the Caspian Sea. There is only one main branch of Zoroastrianism, plus a couple of heresies. Zoroastrian characters require The Old Gods DLC to play. Crusader Kings 3 I started as Rurick who a foreigner to local culture and religion. I can convert to local culture (bad idea, longships are OP for him, should have stayed Norse) but I cannot find any way to convert to local religion.
The weathering magazine issue 3 pdf. One way that works 100% is to swear fealty to a higher ranked lord that has the religion you want to convert to. You can than choose the decision to convert to his religion. You can also change your culture to his this way.

For an example, we'll use the religion ID for Catholicism, which is catholic and the province ID for Paris, which is 112. Knowing those are the two IDs we need, the command to change the religion of Paris (France) to Catholicism would be:
province_religion 112 catholic

How to Change the Religion of a Character
The religion of a character in Crusader Kings 2 can, like the religion of a province, also be changed very easily. Changing the religion of a character is done with the religion [Character ID] [Religion ID] command. To use this command, you must:
- Replace [Religion ID] with the ID of the religion to wish to change the character's to. See our religion IDs page for a list of these.
- If you're changing the religion of a character that isn't you (i.e. another character's religion), you'll need to replace [Character ID] with the ID of the character you wish to change the religion of. See how to find character IDs for help.
For example, the religion ID for Orthodox is orthodox. To change the religion of your own character to Orthodox, you'd simply replace [Religion ID] with orthodox and omit the [Character ID] part. So, the below command would change your character's religion to Orthodox:
religion orthodox
To change the religion of a character that isn't yours to Orthodox, all you'd need to do is add the character ID of the character to the above command. Changing the religion of a character with character ID 4985 to Orthodox could be done with this command:

religion 4985 orthodox
